Calvary
        Episcopal Church  Pascoag, RI

From the Pastor
The Reverend Mary Canavan

The people of Calvary Church center their lives around the joy of being loved by God, and realizing that God loves them regardless of their imperfections. Nourished by this gift of love the congregation in turn reaches out and feeds the community with both spiritual and edible food.

We believe all are called to ministry, to do God's work in our daily lives offering those gifts and skills we have been given in the service of others, and for our spiritual growth.

Everyone is welcome, and we extend a warm welcome to you and invite you to visit us and consider making Calvary your church home.

MINISTRIES AND ACTIVITIES
at Calvary Episcopal Church

Outreach to the Community

Food Closet

Anyone who is hungry, regardless of religious affiliation, is welcome to come to Calvary Episcopal Church to receive a box of food at the twice monthly Saturday morning food closet. We give away more than five tons of food to the needy families in the area. More than 250 people a month are visiting Calvary to get much needed food and home staples.  We also welcome volunteers who want to help stock the shelves during the week and help open the church on Saturday mornings. In addition, donations of food items and staples are gladly received at the church.

The food closet is open from 7:30 am to 8:30 am on the second and fourth Saturdays of
the month.

Melanie and Dennis Kohler give their time to stock and operate the
Food Closet.

Children

Infant and Toddler Play Group
You are invited to bring your infant or toddler and join the play group that meets at Pastor Mary Canavan's home (she is the proud mother of a toddler). The group is reforming after the adoption of Pastor Mary's second child, who is now 1 year old.  If you would like to join, please call her at 401-568-3888 ext. 3 if you would like to join the group.

Sunday School and Nursery
Calvary Church offers Sunday School for children and supervised child care for younger children. The younger children also receive Christian education through the use of Christian stories and messages during story and play time. All children generally join worship upon the conclusion of the Sunday school lesson.

There is much more to know about our community. We welcome your interest, and respect the extent to which each individual wishes to be involved in the life of the parish.
